We’re being loved to death

Instagram, Facebook and various bushwalking Apps are all contributing to the number of day-trippers who are finding their way to the Bays. While we can appreciate that many people just want to enjoy the beauty of Pittwater, some of the information posted on these sites is taking people through previously untraversed bushland and there have been reports of quite serious damage to the environment.

Managers at the Pittwater Youth Hostel say they are doing what they can to promote minimum impact and advising walkers to keep to the trails. Perhaps some notices in the ferry wharves and at the top of the walks might also help and also a request to those publicising the walks (including Northern Beaches Council) that they ask people to keep to the main tracks.
