There have been two AGMs in the Bays recently – the first was the West Pittwater Community Association’s which was held in Elvina Park to a crowd of around 50 members. Discussions ranged from relocation of the ferry wharf, problems at the cargo wharf, dogs off the leash, Pasa-dena and parking congestion. There was also a lively discussion about the need for/placement of seating in the park.
Ausgrid representatives were there to announce the completion of work with a memento of the cable presented to the community – something that mysteriously disappeared on the day.
A special guest was Pittwater Member, Rob Stokes who has retired from State politics. The AGM was Rob’s last appearance as a State Member.
Also present was Cr. Rory Amon – now Rory Amon MP having been successful in winning the seat of Pittwater in the last election.
The second AGM was the Woody Point Yacht Club AGM at the Lovett Bay Boatshed which was a much livelier affair as members and non-members gathered to eat, drink, listen to live music and hand out awards.
Jon Hoile (Hoiley) was appointed as the new Commodore and although the traditional Commodore’s jacket was a little large, he wore it with panache.
And don’t forget, coming up Sunday June 18 another AGM – this time the West Pittwater Brigade.
