The WPCA has been lobbying Northern Beaches Council for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations to be installed at Church Point.
Council have assured the WPCA that preliminary planning is taking place for EV stations to be installed however, the process seems far from speedy.
Before exact locations for Charging Stations are confirmed Council needs to undertake an EOI to the EV market which is then passed on to the various EV charging companies who carry out the work of constructing the stations. This is because Council do not provide the EV charging stations but rather it farms the work out to the various companies who provide the infrastructure.
Whether Church Point will get a charging station is still not clear and if it does, it won’t be until the second part of this year.
The WPCA also wants to make sure that in the process of achieving this goal that offshore residents will not lose any more parking spaces.
