It is often said that writing is the most fun you can have by yourself. Being a prodigious writer, I would have to vehemently disagree (and I would hate to ever use that person’s quill….)
Gaza and Israel are still in the news but that is nothing dear reader beside the schism that is our Carols Afloat. One does wonder when our own Kofi Annan will appear but something must be done to repair this breach for the sake of the community and those of us who simply cannot bear to hear those dastardly wailings more than once a year.
The Christmas Eve canine event was eagerly anticipated as always but it ended with a bang when the viewing structure collapsed along with all who sail on her. Some curmudgeons may blame the lack of upkeep of the walkway but personally I believe it was either a (very successful) attempt to ensure the winning dog got frightened into swimming backwards at the last minute or a nefarious plot by cat owners to ensure future Dog Races are banned!
