West Pittwater RFB launch new Facebook Page

Here’s something we think you might ‘like’!

The West Pittwater RFB has a  new Facebook page, designed to ensure we are kept up to date on training, events and of course, the much-loved fire shed dinners. While the seemingly endless rain is a far cry from last year’s brutal fire season, we cannot be complacent and the page also carries advice on making your bushfire plans and the new warning systems and plenty of other very relevant information.

West Pittwater RFB social media officer Sara Nimmo will be keeping us abreast of any events and activities, so please like, follow, comment and share the page. And for those who prefer Instagram to Facebook, have no fear – it’s on its way. Watch this space for the Instagram launch in the coming weeks.

Simulated Fire Event Training held in Lovett Bay with Elvina 7, Lovett 7, Elvina Boat and a Group Leader PC

Still with West Pittwater RFB, the brigade undertook its first major training session of the year on February 21, conducting an incident simulation in the grounds of Tarrangaua, in Lovett Bay. Both fire trucks and the West Pittwater boat were in action, with support from the District office and also Scotland Island RFB.

There’s an excellent photo essay from the day on the new West Pittwater Rural Fire Service Facebook page .
