In an emergency – who you gonna call?

Over the past month there have been 3 offshore medical emergencies that required assistance from police/ambulance/RFS.

In the event of an emergency of any kind there is often confusion about who to call – is it the water police, the ambulance, the RFS, a neighbour or 000?

If you said call 000 first, then you’re right.

However, it can be difficult to sometimes accurately describe an offshore location – especially when the 000 respondent may insist on you naming the nearest cross street when there isn’t one. The best way to do this is to download the Emergency Plus app to your phone. The app uses GPS functionality to help you provide actual location details with longitude and latitude if required.
