Council plans feasibility study of Commuter Wharf to address crowding

Holders of Church Point Commuter Wharf permits have received an invitation from Northern Beaches Council to take part in what is described as a “preliminary survey” of those using the wharf.

Council says it is planning to investigate options to address peak-hour overcrowding at Commuter.

Council “will engage an external consultant to carry out the feasibility study”. Potential options are to extend the current wharf or provide a second wharf in the vicinity.

The current permit holders were asked to complete the initial survey by March 7 “to help us understand the challenges Church Point Commuter Wharf users are experiencing and possible solutions”. It was stressed that this is a preliminary survey and that there would be further opportunities for engagement once the feasibility study starts.
