Sugar Glider Squad

In early August our newly formed Sugar Glider Squad comprising Hamish Cumming, Ethan Stidwill, Ruby Cumming and Luke Stidwill swung into action. They decided on their nesting box locations, put up the boxes, provided some soft bedding for the inhabitants, and noted the GPS locations for the Northern Beaches Council database.    Read More . . .

On Monday 7th December the Rocky Point Bushcare Group hosted Alf Britton, a knowledgeable small marsupial expert, to enlighten the group on all things Eastern Pygmy Possum (EPP) and Feathertail Glider (FTG), and to 'Walk the Nesting Boxes' to ensure we had them in the right places and determine what critter we had visiting some them.    Read More . . .

Ostensibly Alf Britton works part-time for the Forestry Corporation of NSW in the Strickland State Forest near Narara on the Central Coast. Practically Alf works for the environment, conserving and regenerating this beautiful stretch of bush and keeping a watchful on eye on its inhabitants. Alf now has made and placed over 100 nesting boxes in this forest. He gets a lot of Pygmy Possums visiting but also Feather-tailed Gliders and Antechinus   Read More . . .

In other ground-breaking news Andrew and Nina Hansen from Coasters Retreat have contacted our project team. In 2008 their builder found a Pygmy Possum in his foundation hole in 2008 and have the photos (attached below) to prove it.     Read More . . .
