Organic food lovers in the south of the peninsula were left disappointed when it was announced the long-running Frenchs Forest market was moving from to
Mona Vale. Market bosses are now hoping to win them back by opening a new site in Seaforth.

Plans have been submitted for a new organic market in Seaforth.
Organic Food Markets has drawn up the proposal for the weekly market in the car park of Balgowlah RSL in Ethel St.
It comes as the company prepares to move its long-running market in Frenchs Forest to Mona Vale, leaving their existing customers in the south of the peninsula
and across the Spit Bridge with an extended journey to pick up their organic groceries.
Stephen Choularton, director of Organic Food Markets, said Seaforth was an option they are looking at to help maintain customers in the area.

In the application to Northern Beaches Council, Mr Choularton said a 616-signature written petition and 998-signature online petition had been collected
calling for the market to operate in the area.
“We have identified this location as highly suitable for a weekly food market of up to 40 stalls,” he said in the application. “This is confirmed by the
management of the RSL.”
“Clearly there is substantial demand for a market in this area,” he said referencing the petition figures.
It is proposed the market will run on Sundays with access to the site available from 6am to 3pm with trading hours from 8am to 12.30pm.
The Frenchs Forest market has been a huge hit for 25 years.
The market will also feature “low volume live music,” the application states.
Organic Food Markets operates markets across Sydney including in Hornsby, St. Ives, Leichhardt, Chatswood, Hurstville, Marrickville, Rouse Hill and Bondi
The market in Frenchs Forest has been forced to move from the Parkway Hotel to make way for a development.
The last market at the site will be held on Sunday (August 25).
The market at Pittwater RSL, Mona Vale, will launch on September 1.
